Mulligan and O’Hare
by admin on Apr.11, 2011, under General
Ok we don’t say this lightly but the next photograph is the best thing we have ever done! It started out as a bit of a joke, a tribute and thank you to our hero’s Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer and their sketch Mulligan and O’Hare.
Our friend Cheryl was leaving for Australia and we thought we would tie the two together and give her a print (laminated, obviously) as a leaving present.
Mark Taylor done the honours of photographing us so we could get into character, before you scroll down just remember everything is real, no camera tricks just charity shop items, gaffa tape and a swift haircut!
Turps Break
by admin on Apr.11, 2011, under General
We are back in beesneece!!!
Due to a few web problems and side projects its been a while since we updated the blog and website.
We have mainly been concentrating on the newly released ‘Turps’ magazine, an art/photo/writing magazine based in the northeast; ran by the riff-raff of North Shields!! Namely Anthony ’standard haircut’ Downie, Dominic ‘fat’ Holland and Phil ‘Mary’ Carter but there are too many contributors to mention. For more information on the magazine check out the website:
http://www.turpsmag.co.uk
It has taken our work down a back alley, opening up creative doorways and fresh bottles of pulse, even picking up a pen instead of a camera, you could call us Red Stripe Pen Collection, but we rather you didn’t.
Anyway here is our contribution for this months edition, due to be released at the end of April…
Every time man, every goddamn time hahahaha… adequate. We will keep the Turps stuff flowing, but remember to pick up your own copy as soon as its released!

Minchella Ice Cream
by admin on Oct.11, 2010, under General
The infamous ice cream makers of South Shields Minchella and Co. have chosen us to create the images and design for their new website.
Luckily for us the first day was a product shot of every ice cream they make, once we had the image we couldn’t just let them melt so Joe Minchella being the heart-throb showman he is handed them out free of charge to all enjoying their morning coffee; what a guy!
Seriously though it wasn’t all free ice cream and long hair, we were up at first light to capture a more arty interpretation of the four kiosks, and we will be back in the coming weeks for some portraits and other stuff to make the site look its best!
Here are a few mouth-watering examples of what Minchella and Co. have to offer:
Looking forward to the next part of the shoot, watch this space.

Petrol Terriers EP Cover
by admin on Sep.28, 2010, under General
Following some live stuff we did with the Petrol Terriers, they asked us to create some images for their new EP cover.
The EP includes: ‘Exeter’ ‘Curtis’ ‘On & On’ ‘Biggles’ ‘Cliche Hardcore’ ‘Man in Decline’
If you like punk/alternative and a fast paced 3-piece set-up you will love this, find out for yourself on their myspace:

As for the photographs Anthony and myself used the pedestrian tunnels creepy toil and grime as the backdrop and adopted Anthony’s old school high contrast black and white style to give an intense grain that the chilling tunnel deserves.

Mr and Mrs McIntyre
by admin on Sep.02, 2010, under General
Congratulations to Wayne’s brother Barry who tied the not in July with Lyndsey Brown, Mr and Mrs McIntyre were married at the George Washington on the 3rd of July 2010, Wayne and myself took care of documenting their special day; a thoughtful wedding present from little Wayne (he couldn’t afford champagne!)
The sun was shining and the weather was on our side giving us the elements for some truly beautiful photographs. All of us at Red Stripe Photography wish the happy couple the very best of luck, and thank you for a great day.

the Petrol Terriers

The fastest band in the land played live at the Cluny this week, the Petrol Terriers smashed their way through the post-punk set, with an adrenaline fuelled cover of the Bad Brains’ ‘Pay to Cum’, we had to be quick to capture this melodic speed sensation.
The band are currently working on a new E.P. which is coming soon. If you want to sample the bands music and follow their gigs, follow these links:

Waynes conceptual project is underway, a little house in Pelaw was the location and we had an excellent day working with versatile actor Bill Pickard, it was truly amazing watching the experienced actor at work, taking the strange concept in his stride and giving us two original images to use.
Many, many thanks Bill, hope to work with you in the future…
